KEYS is an all-keyboards band born from the brilliant idea of vocalist Jake E (Cyhra, Amaranthe, and many others) and keyboard-wizard Mark Mangold (Touch, Drive, She Said, Michael Bolton, Cher, Paul Rogers, and others). Joined by Emanuel Bagge (Sweden’s Got Talent finalist) for additional vocals and keyboards, Irwan Fabrien (renowned keyboard- guitar sound designer), and with the help of drum guru Alex Landenburg (Kamelot, Cyhra, and many others) and Adde Larsson.
The new single “Vortex,” released today is a taste of the band’s second album, “The Grand Seduction,” due out on Escape Music on July 19, 2024 in Europe and August 9, 2024 in US. It’s a compelling piece that perfectly blends the spirits of its masterminds: the modernity of Jake E. combined with Mangold’s refined classic rock taste.

Mark Mangold: “This record was such fun to record. We do not limit ourselves, and keep pushing the envelope. For me it’s wonderful as Jake can sing anything… and his incredible range gives us a lot of freedom to go where we want to go. We like to surprise ourselves.”
Live shows feature an arsenal of keyboards and a new, incredible level of instrumental technique, with songs ranging from the most melodic progressive to true catchy and irresistible rock anthems thanks to Jake’s voice (Burrn! Vocalist of the Year 2020).
“For me this is inspiring because it is different than the bands I’ve been in. I think Keys has a very signature sound and we don’t concern ourselves with time or even direction as much as just trying to make songs and recordings that we get a thrill from.” Concludes Jake E.
While songs are always the most important element, this band demonstrates how versatile keyboards can be in this day and age. These artfully crafted songs are rich with scathing synthesizers, organs, keyboard “guitar” pyrotechnics and riffs (played on keyboards with the now available plug in’s that perfectly emulate guitars), dazzling time signatures and drumming and bombastic choruses. Since Mark and Jake are first and foremost award-winning songwriters, they never lose sight of the composition and melodies, though set in a very original and hard-to-categorize sound, enriched by Jake’s four-octave vocal range.
